Wordpress vs other options for blogging

I want to take a minute to explain why I'm blogging from my shopping cart platform. I've built a lot of websites for non-profit organizations and authors over the years but avoided using wordpress for clients because of the hacking issues.

SO, when it came time for me to build my own blog, I started looking for alternatives to wordpress. Thankfully, I already have an account with 3d cart which is the shopping cart we use for our non-fiction books/services and discovered that they include a blog with full security built in and 24/7 phone tech support, SO, I am using this platform for my blog.

Does it have all the fancy bells and whistles that a wordpress site could have? NO, but if the goal of the exercise is to share content about my journey that will help YOU move forward with your own writing career journey, we don't need a lot of bells and whistles! I'm going with the K.I.S.S. method (keep is simple stupid). I'll leave all the bells and whistles to those who are slicker and smarter than I am!

If you are looking to start your own blog, there are lots of options. Some are safer than others, some are more expensive than others and some are easier to use than others. I'm not an expert on blogging software but if you do a google search on blogging platforms, dozens of options will pop up.
